Identity
When you think of who you are, what comes to mind? Maybe a doctor, a son, a hypocrite, a dad, a liar, an artist, a loner... the list could go on and on.
These words are only titles. They are only descriptions. If others or even you yourself have defined you as these positive or negative words, the titles don't define who you actually are. "So God created human beings in His own image. In the image of God He created them; male and female He created them." Genesis 1:27 (NLT)
Jesus didn't create you to define yourself as the titles the world has given you. What truly matters is the identity you see yourself in Jesus, and the identity that Jesus literally gave you. If you're surrounded by defining yourself or others defining you just remember that Jesus created you in His own image.
You are forgiven. You are redeemed. You are chosen. You are called. You are HIS. "For you are a holy people, who belong to the Lord your God. Of all the people on earth, the Lord your God has chosen you to be His own special treasure." Deuteronomy 7:6 (NLT)
